Space Comparison of Our Options

This comparison brings information from various reports together in a single document and attempts to give a high level, apples to apples comparison of the various alternatives before us. Observe that sanctuary seating capacity at Shallowford is essentially identical with proposed Phase 1 construction, and that other program space (excluding the Shallowford gym floor) is also nearly the same between Shallowford and Holly Springs locations. The Family Life Center is a key difference between the options. An important question to discern becomes: “Do we see the opportunities and costs of the gym as supporting our vision of Emerson UU Congregation?”. We encourage everyone to focus on this and other big picture questions during our discernment voyage.

Holly Springs Build/Renovate Options

This is a one page summary of the build and renovate options at our Holly Springs property. This summary is based on the Master Plan as presented in Fall 2010. The purpose is to give rough order of magnitude for what various options cost. Should we enter a design process, we will make final decisions on what we will build based on our needs and projected budget for construction.

The Master Site Plan

This presentation answers the question "What can we do with the land we currently own?". This presentation summarizes the three phase Master Site Plan that was presented in at Town Hall Meeting on September 12th, 20101. The development of this Master Site plan was done with the guidance of architect Randy Young and involved the entire congregation in its development.

The Shallowford Church SET Report

This preport answers the question "What does the Shallowford Church have and how can we use it?". The Site Evaluation Team was given the task of thoroughly evaluating the Shallowford property. Their final report contains rich detail about the size and number of rooms, how we could possibily use them, and thoughts about how we could use the Family Life Center. There has been some revision in numbers as we learned details about the Shallowford Church, in particular how many people can realistically sit in a single pew (8, not 10), how many parking spaces and the number of children could be accomedated in the RE spaces.
