Adult RE Committee Explores Our Options
With a goal of spending time Sunday mornings to deepen understanding of our Unitarian Universalist (UU) faith and to foster continual inquiry into religion, spirituality, morality, and all life experience, the Adult Religious Exploration (ARE) Committee develops programs and other offerings after the Sunday service. Programs might include a course series or single-topic salons. Other ARE opportunities include exploring suggested themes in UU History and UU Theology, and UU-related book discussion groups. Popular options from the past, such as Sermon Reflections and UU Parenting continue to be offered, and many news ways to explore are regularly added to the schedule.Adult RE Sunday sessions begin promptly at 11:15 a.m. and end at 12:15 p.m.
Adult RE Committee chair Ginger White shared this insight “ARE programs focus on serving the spiritual and intellectual enrichment of adults in many “stages and ages” here at Emerson, from young adults to seniors. Hopefully there is something interesting for everyone every Sunday!”
Proposals for additional exploration topics are always accepted.
If you are interested in helping to facilitate ARE offerings Sunday mornings during Adult Religious Exploration--“religious education for all ages”--from 11:15 am until 12:15 p.m., please contact Ginger White. Also contact her to submit an Adult Religious Exploration proposed topic or activity or complete and submit this form.
Sweet Tea and Socrates (Summer 2016)
June 17, July 15 and August 19, from 6:00 until 8:30 p.m. at Emerson, there will be a potluck meal and philosophical dialogue on the nature of duality, exploring the ways in which our views of self and other change the way we see and interact with the world. Contact the church office for more information.
