Religious Education

Religious Education Committee (REC)

Emerson UUC has an active leadership group that works cooperatively with our paid staff Director of Religious Education to take lead volunteer responsibility for key projects and programs while guiding our Children’s and Youth program.

The REC makes policy and program recommendations to the Emerson UUC Board of Trustees and Minister in matters of children and families as well as acting as advocates for children in our Congregation and greater community.

Membership in the REC is open to interested, qualified volunteers who are available to lead hands-on project work 2-3 times yearly, meet monthly with the group, and work with the DRE as needed in separate meetings. Contact Pamela Ohberg, DRE or Minister if you are interested in hearing more about the REC opportunities.

The purpose of the RE Program is to prepare our children to live spiritually, responsibly, compassionately and intentionally in a complex world. Our efforts are driven by the vision of "awakening the soul and helping students become excited about and come to cherish spiritual life" while we guide and support children and families on their journey as lifelong Unitarian Universalists.
