Youth RE Facilities
Our educational facilities include: Rainbow House, Quest House, and Harmony House. Occassionaly classes hold celebrations in the Fellowship Hall in the lower level of the Emerson Sanctuary building. We love teaching outside when weather permits – the shady picnic tables in our side yard near the Ray Fredricks Memorial Garden area provide pleasant outdoor class space.
Rainbow House
Rainbow House was dedicated in May 2007 and includes a clean, modern nursery-toddler room and a spacious, cheerful young children’s classroom for Chalice Kids. It is located at the back of the Sanctuary building parking area next to the playground. It can be reached from the parking lot or by proceeding out the lower level doors of our fellowship hall. We have an access ramp to this building as well as steps to the nursery side entry of Rainbow Hosue.
Quest House
Quest House is Emerson UUC’s educational cottage next door to our historic Sanctuary facility. In addition to 4 classrooms, Quest House has a warming kitchen, library storage area and meeting space.
The Junior Youth (6,7,8th grades) and the Sr. High CRUU (9-12th gr.) as well as two Adult Religious Ed classes meet at this facility on Sunday mornings.
Quest House students are accompanied by Religious Education Volunteer adult teachers and assistants walking to and from Religious Education classes. Classes walk as a group to and from Quest House with adult advisors. They report back to the lower level fellowship hall as a group after class to meet their families at approximately 12:30PM.
Children need to have safe, appropriate footwear to hike on the short “Path to Enlightenment” to Quest House via the sidewalk. Flip flops, platform soles and high heels make the trek difficult.
Carpool circle is available for inclement weather pick-up & drop-off. Look for yellow advisory signs on Holly Springs Road at the entry to the Sanctuary property and Quest House during inclement weather Sundays.
