Heart in the Park

Emerson's 4th annual Heart in the Park event will take place Sunday, February 12 at 11:30am at East Cobb Park (get directions). Since 2009, Emerson members and friends have met at East Cobb Park the Sunday before Valentine’s Day in a public witness in support of marriage equality. We believe that the First Principle of our faith, respecting "the inherent worth and dignity of every person," applies equally to people of all sexual orientations and gender identities.

Following the Sunday service, please carpool to East Cobb park and meet at the top of the parking lot near the "upper level" picnic pavilion. From there we'll march to the open green space and make our congregational "heart." Afterwards we will enjoy a cup of hot chili and heart-shaped sugar cookies. If you are able to bring a pot of chili please email Millie Fuller or contact a member of the Membership Committee.
