Weddings and Memorials
We would be honored to help you acknowledge life’s sacred passages through ritual. Rev. Deborah is available to officiate your wedding, celebrate the birth of your children through a child dedication ceremony or help you and your family create a Celebration of Life or Memorial Service for a loved one who has passed.
Each of these events are very personal and Rev. Deborah will work with you to create a customized ritual that honors your family’s beliefs and values.
These services are available to members and non-members (fees apply) with the option to have the ritual and a reception at Emerson or at another location.

Child Dedication
Unitarian Universalism holds the belief that every child is born in goodness and that no one can determine religious beliefs for anyone else, especially for infants. So rather than offering a ritual to cleanse original sin or declare a child’s religious affiliation, we choose instead to celebrate our children’s lives with a Child Dedication ceremony.
In a Child Dedication, the parents, godparents, friends and the entire congregation
dedicate themselves to supporting and nurturing the spiritual life of the child. The congregation is both participant and witness to the act of dedication.
Group Child Dedications are held each year and families may request private dedications at any time.
